American Coup - 1963

John, those are excellent videos, and manage to prove pretty conclusively on circumstantial and genuine hard evidence that Johnson led the conspiracy, which is reasonably accurately documented in Oliver Stone's "JFK". I wonder if Stone realized then how close to the truth he had gotten. There are obvious errors, such as the seat locations in the limo during the magic bullet scene, but the overall outline is amazingly accurate.

This week Caroline Kennedy released tapes from the family archives of Jackie Kennedy giving an interview in which she said she believed Lyndon Johnson was behind the assassination. It's a stunning confirmation of what many have suspected all along. Johnson, the all-powerful former Senate Majority Leader and then Vice President, was the only one in a position to control factions both in Texas and in the national government to commit the murder and then completely cover it up at all levels. Only Johnson had that kind of power at that time and stood to gain more than anyone else.

I was 10 years old when Kennedy died, and all of us who can remember that day and the weeks and years following, remember how our sense of hope and optimism died with him. It still brings tears to my eyes to recall it. I am now 57, and I still hope I will live long enough to see our government reexamine the evidence and declare for the official records who the perpetrators were. As we fall further each year into the clutches of the international financiers and the vast military-industrial complex controlling what is becoming a police state, I doubt the truth will ever be officially acknowledged, since those are the people who collaborated with Johnson to kill Kennedy, but I still have that glimmer of hope. As the line goes in "JFK," "Do not forget your dying king." Kennedy may have had many personal flaws, but he ushered in an era of exhuberance and faith in our ability to do good and great things such as America has never seen in peacetime, and when we lost him, we lost a vital part of our national spirit that it is evident we will never recover. It makes me mourn for a loss so great, not just the loss of a great leader, but of a great nation.
