radioactive

Hi All-

I had some personal experience with this. After Fukushima happened we decided to invest in a geiger counter. We found that some beautiful cobalt blue salt shakers and hot plate I had bought at Pier One Imports (I beleive they were made in either India or China) were radioactive. I should have know better than to buy something that was probably made by sweatshop labor - it could have cost me my life.

Hi all.

I just read an article stating that you can protect yourself from radiation exposure by taking potassium iodine.  Can anyone elaborate on that claim, and help me understand how much to take / how long to take it / who it might help, etc...?
