On Wednesday, November 9th, there will be a test of the Emergency Alert System, lasting up to 3 minutes. The test will be conducted by the US Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, the FCC, and the National Weather Service. There is some concern that the announcement will not include notification that this is only a test.

Every once in a while I have a thought that won't go away. One of these is the idea that families need security as much or more than our "homeland." To express this idea, I wrote a message to Mr. Obama putting forth my idea as a new issue for his campaign in my state of Pennsylvania.
