This film doesn't mention it but I think any filming of a nuclear test would be ruined anyhow, as the radiation would destroy the film, so how could they possibly have filmed a nuclear test in the 50's? However, no nukes at all? While I have a hard time believing that I wanted to do more research because it seems that whenever anything is used for scare tactics (terrorism by the mass media) it's based on falsehoods.
I'm thinking about 9/11 and all the ground zero talk and how it was falsely used to scare us all into going along with their fascist control and wars. Also, I have my own doubts about the gas chamber usage by Hitler - I think a case can be made that people were simply starved and worked to death - not that it's any better but the point is that there may not have been a special secret weapon involved.
So then I found this video which is much more convincing. Not that he's making the case that nukes don't exist, just that they are totally ineffective at winning wars, so why haven't they been banned? Here's where I have to ask myself, do they have another purpose? Are they being used to terrorize us all? In other words, are we paying taxes for protection from other countries that might have nukes, or are we being blackmailed by the shadow government - pay up or we'll nuke ya? All those drills we went through as children come to mind - duck and cover, etc....
PLJ, thanks for raising an interesting topic. This is purely speculation, but I think the purpose of nukes, whether they exist or not, is to keep us in a constant state of fear of the "other countries and their nukes" so we will support massive military spending just in case those "others" attack. There was a period of about 10 years after the Soviet Union fell when we (Americans and Europeans) could have really reached out to the former communist nations to help them develop their economies and to eliminate all the nukes on both sides. We completely ignored that obvious opportunity to make friends out of former enemies. Why? Because as long as we have a "dangerous" enemy who has nukes, we can justify our own massive military.
The "peace dividend" didn't last long, and now here we are making enemies out of the Russians again, to say nothing of our fear of the Chinese, N. Koreans, and our Middle Eastern "enemies." We deliberately let the moment of peace slip through our fingers in the interest of military profit and the furtherance of the American Empire.

It's an interesting hypothesis and one I never really considered before. Perhaps it's something I've taken for granted. I, too, remember the atom bomb drills in school. (We were supposed to take cover under our desks!)
After what the course taught me about false flag operations, this video makes some sense.

Yes, justifying a large military budget, that must be a big part of it. And the drillls given to young children scare them, then later as adults when they are told they were scared because of the "enemy" I imagine it helps in getting military recruits, besides making people feel good about the country's large military budget.
