Good Greetings All:
I am interested in learning more about Senator Ron Paul and Representative Dennis Kucinich . My intuition is guiding me that this would be a dynamic duo for Change and Re-Construction of the USA as well as creating World Wide Unity. What do you think? --fairyfarmgirl
Many of us that worked for Dr. Paul in '08 were hoping he would pick Kucinich as a running mate. (don't confuse him with his son Rand Paul, who is Senator for Tennessee, Ron Paul is a Congressman from Texas). He has worked with Kucinich on several different bills and says that he considers him a friend but there are big philosophical differences that I don't believe the 2 could ever overcome.
That said, I'd love to see them get together - it would be very healing for the country and a winning ticket that I'd personally work my butt off for. Perhaps it was just the excitement of being involved in a campaign, but I swore when I shook Ron Paul's hand in NH, I was shaking the hand of a future president - I still think some unusual train of events might occur that leave him as president of the U.S., even if he doesn't get elected in the traditional way.
I wouldn't mind either of them running with Jesse Ventura - he's sort of the guy in the middle that would be more compatible with either of them.

I love Ron Paul... I have been talking him up for a while. I have turned a lot of people onto him. Kucinich is ok for me (I'm from Ohio too) but there was something a while ago that Obama wanted (think it was the bailout money) and Dennis was against it all the way, until he took a plane ride with Obama and then he suddenly was for it. I guess you can look at it as self preservation, but it really irritated me that he did that and didnt stick to his guns.
Hi B2-
I think it was Obama's health care bill. Kucinich insisted it must be single payer for him to back it - otherwise it would just be a boon to the insurance and pharmaceutical companies. After meeting with Obama in private, he voted for it anyway, even though the bill wasn't changed. My understanding of the Obama care bill is that it will work like it does here in Massachusetts - it's nothing more than the government forcing you to prove ou have health insurance or you get penalized with additional taxes. There are minimal provisions to help the poor pay for insurance but not much.
Here's some fun Ron Paul videos:
PL, you are right, that is what it was. I've always like Kucinich as he tends to stay outside of the party lines on things. That one just upset me, that was all. I do think he got tremendous pressure from above to vote for it, so I can understand his change in support.
exactly what he is supposed to be doing...Showing us that it s up to us to change things from this end,,He had most of the world behind him, then the big let down,,,It was perfect....I love ron paul, and dennis kucinich, but I think we are already forgetting the lesson we were just taught....The health care joke alone should have been enough for us to see the pattern..Still, we are looking for someone else to save our ass,,Ha!...I thought that with all the emotion involved with the rise of Obama, that more people would see the light when nothing changed....To me that is Obama s purpose in a nutshell,to show us once and for all what a lie our whole system is....Good luck with your next candidate !
to that,,When Obama came out of nowhere, and started receiving publicity for his speeches, and name mentions, etc.,it was quite obvious that he was being "groomed" to become president..I voted for him,,But my statement to myself at that time was "He is either THE catalyst for change that we need so badly,, OR, he is the biggest deception ever laid on the American people, and the world,in a presidential election" ..So, I was wrong,,He is both !!Either way he has become the catalyst for change, as with his do nothing 4 years, more people will realize what a waste of time, money, and energy, our political system is,,,and that it has to go ! So, to me, Obama being elected has become a win/win situation !
And well said again!!!! He was being groomed as early as his days at Columbia U prior to his days at Harvard Law (by none other than "Zbig" if the info is correct)...
have a beer at back yard BBQ with GW was perfect for the yeehaws, and then the elegance of Barack Obama was perfect for the left seeking relief from the GW debacle.
we are so celebrity driven in this dumbfk "shallow hal" nation....
yea I couldnt agree more! It's like the religious right waiting for someone to come and save them. We are all in this together and it is up to US to make the change. The return of "Christ" is the return of the Christ consciousness in us ALL, that is what it is all about, that is what Jesus was all about, live LIKE him, not through him, and we too can become Godlike! (No offense to any religion!) It is the same politically! That is why I like what I see in Egypt, they are fed up and said enough and are taking matters into their own hand! I do love Ron Paul, but my guess is he will never get elected and if he did, my guess is he would end up like our last real president (JFK), unfortunately!
Like many people, I am deeply disappointed that Barrack Obama hasn't made good on many of his campaign promises. I believe that Obama meant to keep his promises, and that he caved to pressure and possibly threats against himself and his family. Who knows if Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich would have any more power if they were elected president under the current constraints of the PTB?
I have always rooted for the underdog. Some say that Obama was destined (even divinely appointed) to lead us out of this mess. In any event, it doesn't do any good to condemn the man just yet. I submit that a better tact would be to leave a space in our hearts and imaginations for Obama to find a courageous plan to outwit the PTB and turn America around.
...in Dr. Paul's district and he is definitely one of the few good guys in Washington. The problem that he has is that he runs as an independent and can not even get on the ballot in his home state! This is a clear indication of the lock that the phony two party system has on our political process. If you will remember, Dr. Paul had a bill to audit the Fed which had huge sponsorship througout congress. The bill was gaining momentum when all of a sudden it became an emergemncy to pass the disasterous Obamacare bill, effectively sweeping the Fed bill under the rug. Now he and his son have both introduced similar bills in both houses so we will see what other emergency crops up to derail these new bills. The Fed will protect itself at all costs since they have been operating the biggest robbery and extortion scheme the world has ever seen for the last 80 years. If our country has any chance at political reform, it must start with abolishing the Fed and their illegal enforcers, the IRS. COngress must use the constitutional power to print our own money backed by silver as Kenedy started to do and for which I believe he was assasinated. As long as the Fed operates, we will continue to be slaves to them and no other meaningful reform can take place. Was must also move to the Fair Tax.
It is also imperative to do these things in a peaceful manner. If we were to riot like the Egyptians, martial law would be declared and the constitution would be suspended resulting in a dictatorship. This must not happen.
Don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but the Patriot Act has already eroded many of our inalienable rights granted by the US Constitution. http://www.scn.org/ccapa/pa-vs-const.html Congress hasn't acted in the public's best interest in a long time... don't hold your breath for them to have a sudden change of heart.
Everything we know about politics, health, science, history, economics, religion -- virtually every sector of society-- has been carefully crafted with lies. We are truly in the midst of the biggest scam in human history.
Peaceful protests would be optimal, however, once the masses finally discover how deeply they've been duped, I think the anger will be too great to contain. The PTB are already planning for martial law... and as they foster tactics to divide us, maybe they're even counting on it.
It's time to prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
