I got this in my in-box today and felt it was worth passing on. Be sure to watch the video link before continuing to read the e-mail.

I am passing along a great response to a question I asked on how we build community. What do you think? What if each asked the questions my friend asks of themselves and their progeny too? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5pYWS_Kf20
"[Why do people need/want] A roadmap? A simple set of directions to follow? This is what all kings offer and is the siren song of deception and misdirection. All kings, leaders, shepherds, governments must by design lead away from what they claim to lead towards because the king WITHIN each of us cannot be followed while following someones else's words, opinions or lifestyle.
"We cannot follow two kings. Each of our inner kings are for each of us only. The desire to be told IS the desire to not know, learn or be responsible for. This is a tenet of the herd mentality. The seeming need to be told what, how, why in easily followed step by step directions. This is what must be abandoned.
"You ask for directions of how to flesh out (bring to life) utopia when its birth depends on us abandoning such questions! Such desires to be given a set of rules and behaviors! This is a manifesting of the desire for an outward king. Like Zen you can't be taught, you must learn on your own.
"You see my lifestyle. Where i direct my energy. Does it seem like i have the "answers" or that i am simply moving away from serving judiacs as i can and my knowledge allows and setting up situations that allow me to move further from obedience to ALL kings yet holding fast to WHAT rather than who?
"Morality, Justice, Honor, Decency? Can these themselves without anthropomorphic "persona's" in the legal and physical sense not be the king? Though a king without dressing, body, voice, persona?
"Does not knowledge trump opinion and what is it you get when you ask others questions? Their opinion or the complete truth? How do you know which they spoke? Is not asking others what you should do not exactly the behavior of serfs? Do we all not already have an active INNER sense of what is right and what is not? Is not the following of what others have said we must do and not do exactly why and how we find ourselves in the predicaments we are in?
"Perhaps it is the constant search for a king, a leader, that are the problems we are seeking to overcome or at least the base of them? When you stand under the abandonment of leaders, all leaders, all kings, the path, your path will open to you as mine is to me. What is left is a choice between Love and hatred, obviously.
"This probably won't be seen until then because before that you are following a king and what Christ said that his kingdom is not of this world cannot become clear. He was not talking about some esoteric kingdom. He was referring to our own INNER leader, our internal sense of right and wrong. That IS Christ!
"When we begin to obey OURSELVES rather than external kings, laws, rules, patterns of behavior acceptable to others and cling to what we are driven towards within balanced with knowledge rather than the opinions and lies of a leader we are already there because "the goal" is not a place or a lifestyle, it is a process.
"There is no single path. No set of directions for all to put in place then without understanding and still wanting to be told what is right become free and honorable. The devil is in the details. In short, i don't have a clue. I'm just following an inner rudder (Christ, Mohammad, Buddha or WHAT ever you want to call IT) as best i can and i have learned obedience to anything and everything except our inner selves IS all our problems fount.
"We have a very long way to go on a very short road. Belief, our beliefs are our enemies greatest tool and most all believe an outward king is required and ALL leaders claim such except Christ and the others. As long as we "believe" we need a leader, laws, rules etc we will fail and our energies will be taken for war and strife by judiacs.
"I don't think we are adult or smart enough to follow Love.
"We prefer competition, being on teams and strife."

I tried to edit this to get the video link to show up but it didn't work.
Let's try here:
Both the posts -- words and video are brilliant! (I love Monty Python.)
Like so many people, the points made here are ones I never really thought about until recently. I suppose that's the secret to their success!
