Seeing the Invisible Children

This video is simply awesome! It's been viewed by over 10 million people in the last two days and inspired many of them, like me, to action. I truly believe this moving video is a game changer which will empower all of us to make a difference. Don't miss it, and tell all your friends. I plan to do so today. Thanks so much for sharing that, John.

With deep love and excitement,
Fred

I think Alex Jones is basically wrong here but I felt that it is important to share this link so that we go into this with our eyes open. I'm in favor of the Kony movement, I've already spread this film to everyone on my e-mail list but lets stay awake and aware and make sure that Kony is captured and not used as a boogie-man excuse for further war and control.

I think the good news is that this basic model can be used again to bring to light all kinds of issues.

It's wonderful to hear about people who care enough to do the right thing and make a real difference.  This is the first time I kinda wish that I had my own predator drone.

BTW, the TRI is one of the few groups who use the "peace symbol" correctly... With the arms of the cross raised in an upright position, it is "a Pythagorean emblem of the course of life, in the form of a rising path with fork roads to Good and Evil.'' It also signifies fertility, but with the arms pointing downward, it denotes evil and death.   "In fact, the inverted 'Man-rune'--the figure encircled in the common sign which the Communists tell us means 'peace'--has for centuries been a favourite sign of Satanists.'' http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/Wicca%20&%20Witchcraft/...

I just read the true story of Achak Deng, one of the lost boys of Sudan.  His story, and thousands like him, is similar to Jacob's.  The war between a corrupt government and the rebel army has been going on for decades.

Hi all,

This has been huge in Australia for a few days now, we were talking about it at work, something to do with some Ugandan school kid here who's parents explained what is happening..well the kid saw blood.....

My first Shaman, the Transexual one, almost 20 years ago told me that it would be the kids who would lead the charge to the fifth world.....she said they would be unstoppable....

I would not like to be Kony......the 8 year olds have him in their sites...

Some 50,000+ kids have decided on a plan...they want everyone to download and print masks of Kony......they are all going to wear them...they want everyone to wear them...they only seem to be talking about what they are going to do but I guess their plan is to leave this guy no place on earth to hide....their weapon of choice....awareness!....

Hold on to your hats guys, be ready for personal transformation......and watch the kids.......they might just show us how this all works......they get it!.....and they are both pissed and focused....uncompromizing, and defeat is not in their vocabulary.....

Hi Folks-

We have to be more careful to check out every new "good" cause that comes out.

I have personally e-mailed Cynthia McKinney who is very knowledable about african issues, about the Kony cause who agrees with Alex Jones that more U.S. and Africom presence in Uganda would be a BAD thing. Sorry to be the bearer of bed news -this is very depressing especially for me because I have already sent out many e-mails and spent $30 on bumper stickers that I now know I should not use.

Yes, if nothing else this highlights the power of the internet. Hopefully all the exposure will also shed light on the horrors of the Ugandan government as well. Thanks for the links Fairy..

Hi dear friends,

I am very sad at how many of my conspiracy friends are claiming that this amazing video is a psy-op. It seems that some people want to see conspiracy in anything that is popular. One person actually wrote me stating that anything popular must be manipulated. I find that people have a strong tendency to see what they are looking for, so if you are looking for conspiracy and manipulation everywhere, that is what you will likely see.

I'm aware that like all of us, the video and the organization behind it have their weaknesses. That said, I've always been amazed at how little my friends and Americans in general know or care about Africa. I've had great hope for many years that we might find ways to stop the warring there and to bring people out of the intense poverty and disease-plagued lives that so many there to live with. I spent a month, mostly in Tanzania in 1990, and was also deeply impressed with how friendly people were, in spite of all their hardships.

I've also been aware for many years of the intense cruelty of some of the warlords like Kony in Africa and elsewhere. And I've know that most high level Western politicians don't care and turn a blind eye when terrible things happen in Africa. Rwanda was a clear example of genocide that was greatly manipulated by top Western politicians. I have very little doubt that many in the power elite/shadow government support this kind of genocide and would like to kill off the African people. And I also know that hundreds of thousands of children have been enslaved and/or raped over the years and that it could have been stopped if Western leaders cared.

For me, in spite of its weaknesses, Kony 2012 is exciting because it is bringing these important matters to the consciousness of millions of people who never knew about it. Now these people care and are taking action to stop this and to show that they care about the African people. Is that really such a bad thing? For those who believe this is a psy-op, do you really think the powers that be want people to care about ordinary Africans? Do you really think the powers that be was people to stand up feel empowered by taking action to stop something they believe is wrong?

I am very excited that this beautiful video has gone viral. Even if there was some hidden agenda behind it (which I doubt), it is helping to educate and inspired many millions to step up and take action. Yea!!! I welcome your thoughts.

With much love and best wishes for a better world,
Fred

the film was that they didn't focus on who was supplying the guns, that is where the attention should be going.  Just where are all these guns coming from in these poor countries.  These Kony's and others like him wouldn't even be on the radar if they didn't have a means to these weapons.  Which brings up the obvious question:  Where and how are they acquiring so many weapons (most of the weapons I saw in the film looked brand new)?  And that list he was on - my mind sent up red flags as soon as I saw Gaddafi on that list, looked like a NWO to do list.  The nagging thought in the back of my mind was "of course our politicians won't help bring Kony down because they have an investment in keeping people like him on the loose - profit from weapons and the furthering of future wars."

I was very moved watching this film but wondered how it was such a slick and expensive production.  Of course I want this to be an honest movement and do believe that anything that brings social injustice to public attention while getting so many to act is a very inspiring and positive movement and is the direction our future is heading.  I will only add these next articles and videos to give the other side of the story so that we can look at this from all angles.

And of course we all know Alex would take this stance:

At least the Filmmakers are doing something which is far more than anyone else until about 2 days ago was doing. This could be a model for raising awareness and creating change in the world. I for one can see what they are attempting to do and fully support them in creating awareness to create change.

well to all of those who say--- stopping Kony and the LRA is a bad idea-- sure.... and stopping the SS and Hitler's Army was a "bad idea" and how about stopping the Khmer Rouge... was that a a "bad idea?" I happen to know several Cambodians that survived the killing fields. It is not just in Uganda and the countries surrounding Uganda that the LRA is in--- it is a sickness of the Human Soul that infects a consciousness. This consciousness only stops when the leader is stopped--- and then the henchmen and then the field commanders and finally the rehabilitation of the child soldiers--- the ones that can be rehabilitated. Liberia has quite a lot to show about this. Liberia also had a problem with child soldiers.

The energy surrounding this film, Kony 2012 is truly a blessing.  It is raising awareness and opening hearts as people see this film.  It is calling people to purpose to create peaceful and meaningful change in the world-- not just in Uganda, not just in central Africa, but in the world.

Simplicity is truth.  Complex intellectualism and blather obscures truth.  A clear message is required for raising awareness.  Raising Awareness is the first step in creating meaningful change.  As Awareness expands change occurs-- new ways of rising to the challenge and responding to difficulty is courageously explored and implemented.  Change only occurs when one actually begins to do something.

Seeing the keen of the child's cry is something that can not be faked.  It is a frequency that goes through the heart.  This child, Jacob, in Kony 2012 was keening-- it is the same cry I witnessed as I held my cambodian friend who survived the Killing Fields.  I held her because I was the one sitting next to her in a classroom of other young people--- no one else had the courage to look such grief in the eyes and respond with compassion--- One kid, had the gall to say "So what.  People die."  I was 15 when this experience occured.   I too promised my friend that I would do all I was able to with my gifts to change this world-- to make it a better place by helping to heal hearts-- This is what this is about-- Healing each of our Hearts and the Hearts of Humankind.

We are one body of Humankind.  Each of us is interconnected through the flower of Life.  Each of us is part of the same whole.  Each of us is a drop in the vast ocean of consciousness-- each of us is interconnected as One.

I am holding the intention that Hearts' open and find their calling through this message of Hope that Kony 2012 so brilliantly expresses.

I bless all with Love.

Invisible Children has been criticized for what it spends on media productions and marketing instead of direct aid to Africa. Last year, the charity took in $13.8 million. They spent $8.9 million and just $3.3 million went to programs in central Africa.

Zach Barrows works for Invisible Children. "So all of the money that's raised doesn't go to the ground in the conflict region," he said, "because if it did, we wouldn't be able to create these films, and we wouldn't be able to spread the word like we are."

By so smartly using social media, they have been able to spread the word better than anyone ever has online. On Wednesday, the central African warlord was trending higher on Twitter than quarterback Peyton Manning leaving the Colts or Apple unveiling its new iPad.

Late last year, several local groups wrote to the presidents of Congo and CAR asking for more help. “Civilians in this remote region have no protection from LRA attacks, and often no means of communicating with others to call for help,” they wrote.  “We can only truly rejoice when the LRA threat is over and when we hear that Joseph Kony is no longer terrorizing our region. We have suffered too much and we are tired of living in total insecurity – afraid to go to our fields to farm and unsure when or where the rebels may surface again. We don’t know whether our children who were abducted by the LRA will ever come back home.”

A woman whose 13-year-old daughter had been abducted by the LRA in September 2008 told me: “I cry every day for her. You can’t imagine what it’s like to have your daughter taken from you. It makes me ill when I think about what they [the LRA] could be doing to her in the bush. I don’t know if I’ll ever see her again, or even if she’s still alive.”

Arresting Kony and other senior LRA leaders would reaffirm that those who commit mass atrocities will face justice. It will also help end the scourge of one of the most brutal rebel groups in Africa.

Jolly Okot was abducted in 1986 by the militia group that later became the LRA. The then-18-year-old could speak English so was valuable to the militants. She was also forced to have sex.

Today, Okot is the Uganda country director for Invisible Children, in charge of 105 employees. She said the group is helping 800 people affected by LRA violence to attend high school and university. She said the program has given hope to kids who previously dropped out of the education system.

"The most exciting thing about this film is that I'm so grateful that the world has been able to pay attention to an issue that has long been neglected," Okot said. "I think it is an eye-opener and I think this will push for Joseph Kony to be apprehended, and I think justice will get to him."

International Criminal Court Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo said it has been hard to raise public awareness about Kony since issuing his warrant in 2005.

Hi Fairy,

I have a mate at work from Liberia.....

His father was killed, then his mother was killed in the war, he grabbed his 7 brothers and sisters and made a run for a refugee camp...they made it...he spent 16 years there.......they eventually got to Australia....

Today....

He is an apprentice in our polish shop, spray painting etc,....he recieved an outstanding achievement award last year, I think he got a $700 drill,  and his boss told me he will be a super star...I expect him to take out best apprentice at the full company awards mid year......he is engaged, drives a late model car and bought a house just before christmas....

His only fault......he is too nice!...Lol......but we are working on that......hehehe

Africa needs AWARENESS!

This is wonderful and we can take it where ever we want.....the negativity is the psy op...It's sad people can't connect to their hearts and are stuck with their rational/logical and untrusting minds!.... What Alex and others are doing shows little character...in Australia it is known as tall poppy syndrome....Alex and co like to be the center of attention, I guess this is the only way to drag attention back to themselves......Alex is asleep and he doesn't even know it.......lol
