I'm posting this film because of it's exposure of how the mainstream media (including Amy Goodman, Democracy Now!) is pulling our leggs by pulling our heartstrings. I think I'm in disagreement about it's anti-amnesty for illigal immigration but I think the film does a very good job of pointing out media lies.
I continue to be ambivalent about granting illegal immigrants amnesty in this country. I personally feel that everyone should have the right to come and go as they choose and I do not feel that illegal immigrants have a seriously negative impact on the country. So I guess I'm pro-amnesty but I don't live close to the border so maybe others who are anti-amnesty know something I don't know. However, this film rightly points out than without the corporate "green revolution" in Mexico, there would be far fewer people fleeing that country to America.
I visited the website referred to at the end of the video https://www.numbersusa.com and they don't appear to me to be racist or unreasonably discriminatory. Rather, I think their stand is that open borders are being used as a means to destroy nationalism and implement world government. On one page they even invited website readers to correct any inaccurate information and on another page they said that illegals are as much a pawn in the game as the rest of us.
Now here are my comments about the victim, Jeff Bauman... (Please excuse the graphics.) I'm no expert, but to me that exposed length of bone on his leg looks too clean to be a fresh wound. Where's the blood? Shouldn't there be jagged pieces of charred flesh hanging from the bone?
And as for Carlos Arrendondo... is it me or does he look like David Hasselhoff's half brother? In fact all of Carlos' sons are so good looking (in a gringo sort of way) that I wonder if they would be given the same media coverage if they looked a little more ethnic or fugly.
Case in point... do you remember William Autrey who impulsively jumped down onto the track to shield a seizure victim with his own body when he saw the victim fall before an oncoming New York City subway train? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N2zhu5RH34 How soon the public forgets. Did he get any awards, cars, and money for his heroism? Sorry, Bill, you don't fit the poster boy profile.
Another difference between the two heroes is that the NY subway incident was an accident and the Boston Marathon bombing case is... well, a carefully planned propaganda piece with a serious agenda... IMHO.
