The Five Freest States in America

Since the video was uploaded to Youtube in 2011, the rankings have changed.  (They said on the video that people can input their preferences and change the rankings.)

As of this writing,  http://freedominthe50states.org/#list ranks the top 5 states as:  1. North Dakota 2. South Dakota, 3. Tennessee, 4.  New Hampshire, 5. Oklahoma.

Isn't that interesting?

I'm glad there a southern state in the mix now - I'm tired of these cold winters. Isn't North Dakota that state with it's own independent bank? I bet if you looked at freedom world wide Iceland would be up there too, now that it has kicked out the banksters.

Interesting. Yes there is a high degree of Individual Freedom here in NH--- and yet too much a good thing is causes real heart aches. Colebrook, NH comes to mind.

I bless this state of NH I live, where many are highly Civic Minded and conservatively Conservationist--- meaning property value is the main reason for agreeing Climate Change has occured, as one's property is destroyed by weather in ways that do not follow a previously established pattern, one who cares about their assets, will look into the data, and combine it with experience and come up with an action plan to address the concerns.

In this case, Climate Change is accepted by most Conservatives as they are having direct real time and place experiences.  This is what moves a Conservative, real experience.

For awhile there were those who tried to politicize Climate Change  There were those who tried to blame Pres. Obama, Liberals, and those who they did not agree with.  But in the end, erosion won out.  One can not dither with Mother Nature.  She wins everytime.

Another, new conservative development is the understanding that Humanity is part of Nature, not seperate from Nature.  This is leading to some very progressive conservationsit policies.  It does make good sense.

NH is also leading the way on how to integrate immigrants into the community.

As far as banking, NH has the high number of community banks and community credit unions.  NH also have a very robust informal economy.

A local author in NH wrote a very well researched book on slavery called "Color me included,"  By Deborah Knowlton. You will not find this book on Amazon.com.

In the town I live there is a sizable homeschool community.  The reasons are diverse-- but two main groups are evident:  Religious Christian Right and those who believe in UnSchooling.

Just to be clear I am a strong supporter of Public Education.

There is a high standard of living in NH for many   This is due to a variety of reasons spanning education, taxes, civic mindedness, and sensible common sense approaches to poverty alleviation. Just as in other "less free states" there is homelessness here in NH.  Our homeless are often not seen and yet there is a great need here.  Food insecurity is a huge issue also in NH.  This is usually addressed at the local level with small state or federal grants providing seed money.  The key word in NH is local.  Local Politics, Local Solutions.

There is much freedom here in NH.  And with Freedom comes great responsibility.  Colebrook, NH is a reminder of what happens when one believes their individual rights outweigh the rights of others to their Liberty, Life and Pursuit of Happiness.

Sometimes these numbers can be wrong !!! Statistics are tools to get masses to believe.

Not sayin they are wrong everytime but we have to discern .

Yes, and one man's paradise is another man's ball and chain. We each have our own preferences and priorities.
