A Completely Different Perspective on Trump's Presidency

"Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves."  ~~  Carl Jung

Dear Gathering Spot friends,

Perspective on Trump's Presidency

The provocative essay below presents an intriguing perspective on Donald Trump's presidency that is well worth considering.

What if the intense polarization we are experiencing related to Trump is all part of a greater scheme to pull us away from the focus on the elite 1% and to push us back into the us vs. them paradigm which creates never-ending war and profits for the elite?

This profound writing invites us to remember where the real power lies. I choose to be a stand for transcending polarization to find the path towards working together to create ever greater love and harmony for all of us.

A Completely Different Perspective on Trump's Presidency

By Bernhard Guenther

Hint: This is going to come down to you, and it’s deep!

Here’s the thing from a basic Jungian perspective: Trump is your shadow, America. He is a reflection of your unconscious. This is especially the case for people who identify themselves as leftist, liberals, and progressives and whose own shadow they have never deeply acknowledged. They have projected their own shadow onto the other side with their “holier than thou,” politically correct attitude.

The self-inflation, narcissism, greed, the “bigger is better,” the “quantity over quality,” the entitlement, the hypocrisy, the drive for recognition and fame, the “best in the world," the bully, the “money can buy everything,” the racism and sexism, etc. ... or anything else you despise in the man... it’s all you, buried in your unconscious. It’s also the shadow side of the “American Dream” so obviously reflected in America’s imperialism.

It’s About You!

Anyone who identifies himself or herself as liberal, progressive, or leftist and who projects disgust, hate, or anger on to this man, you are looking at your own shadow. And it won’t go away if you continue these reactive projections and look for external solutions or for a different leader to project your hope onto while still believing in the religion of government, which feeds off of polarization.

Moreover, you only reinforce the schism as long as you keep identifying with any side, because that defines the other side. You cannot have the one without the other. As long as you feed and play into this game of fabricated duality, you enable Empire to control you. And it's all entirely based on socially and cultural conditioned identifications and beliefs to which you are so attached and by which define yourself. This is the basis for population control and social engineering, reinforcing the invisible slavery and a prison created out of your own “free will.”

Here’s the real shocker: Trump is actually your teacher, for he creates more friction and shadow triggers, hence more potential to wake people up from an esoteric perspective. Clinton would have been the sleeping pill for most people, even though she’s the more dangerous one hidden behind the mask of a woman. But Trump can only be a teacher if people take back their projections and engage in some serious and sincere soul searching, cutting through their socially and cultural conditioned identifications to ignite the alchemical fire within.

Any negative or reactive emotion you have towards Trump or his supporters is an indication that you are giving away your power and life energy. It shows where your work is when it comes to basic Jungian psychology of shadow work. Only when you can come to a place of non-reactive zero-point consciousness, rising above fabricated duality and tuning into your own inner power and guidance can you become a sovereign embodied Individual.

If you do that sincerely and go deep, you will finally stop believing in and supporting this religion of government (that never can give you true freedom) and realize that it was never about Trump, Clinton, Sanders or any other authority statist puppet to begin with. You can then stop this silly idea of voting for change and the fragmented, mechanical search for external leaders and worship of authority. Only then can you really question everything you believe in and have been taught.

And most important of all, only then can you drop and let go of your ego identification, which feeds the polarization. This is the path towards a true shift and evolution of consciousness. Anything else is just going in circles, re-arranging the furniture and tapestry of your prison cell, instead of breaking out of it.

That is not a comfortable process for it entails utter disillusionment and taking full responsibility without blame and externalizing. Nobody can do it for you. Nobody is going to save you. It takes tremendous humility and the sincere self-honesty of facing the lies within which make up your conditioned personality to uncover that which is not who you truly are, but which you mistake for your real Self.

It’s much easier to project outward, to protest, to look for the next leader and keep up with the futile idea of fragmented activism and other external solutions. This is all based on the fragmented male aspect of consciousness (your unconscious inner tyrant projected onto Trump) removed from the wholeness of the feminine aspect of consciousness that is tuned in to the wholeness of nature.

In the end, America got the president it deserved, for when you act like slaves, looking for a leader or savior to follow, you get masters. And you always will, as long as you support and believe in the religion of government, regardless of what system is implemented. Also democracy seems like such a good idea until you don’t get your way, right? (oh, I forgot, it was the Russians messing with the election ... right, of course ... whoever you want to blame and keeps you from looking deeply within into your own shadow).

From a greater perspective, all the anger, disgust, and anything projected on Trump, all the polarization, protests, revolts, speeches of celebrities about empathy, equality, and protecting truth; it's all mechanically reacting in this unconscious shadow dance.

This is exactly what the matrix overlords and Empire want you to do. It is what they feed upon. In fact, that frequency is all they are after, for it strengthens your slavery and sustains them, no matter what puppet they put in place for you to either identify with or project anger on. It’s the old game of divide and conquer, and as long as you are focused on "them," the Matrix has you.

Editor's Note: The above is a version of the original essay on this webpage edited for brevity and clarity.

—————-

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves. Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. When an inner situation is not made conscious, it appears outside as fate.”

~ Carl G. Jung

—————-

“At every turn, the synthetic culture of Empire implores us to throw our hearts and minds into unconscious polarization. It wants us to radicalize ourselves to either patriot or terrorist, believer or atheist, white or black, liberal or conservative, strong or weak, and then embark on an endless crusade to reform, condemn, or destroy the other side. This one-way polarization renders all participants impotent, regardless of which side they pick. This subtle but devastating trick deactivates our will and we automatically forfeit our capacity to rule ourselves. Lost in unconscious polarization, we serve Empire.

Mass culture is a control mechanism that devalues the individual. It seeks to enforce the dependence of the individual human on a collective group and the priority of group ideologies over individual life paths. It employs nationalistic impulses to setup polarities of antagonism that exclusively benefits a set of ruling elites. At the top level, the elites fully comprehend that there are no distinct nations, ideologies or cultural imperatives to speak of. To them, there is only power and no power.

Real human culture, the natural expression of the individual at the pure creative level, always emanates a degree of uniqueness, spontaneity and asymmetry that is unfeasible to manufacture or mass produce. It does not lend itself to reproduction or packaging. The value of real culture is therefore to be observed in that which is handmade, distinct, crafted, skillful, and is a profound representation of an individual, not an organization. It is anti-commercial to its core.”

~ Neil Kramer (last two paragraphs from this webpage)

—————-

“[Look] at all that is and has been happening in human history – the eye of the Yogin sees not only the outward events and persons and causes, but the enormous forces which precipitate them into action. If the men who fought were instruments in the hands of rulers and financiers, these in turn were mere puppets in the clutch of those forces.

When one is habituated to see the things behind, one is no longer prone to be touched by the outward aspects – or to expect any remedy from political, institutional or social changes; the only way out is through the descent of consciousness which is not the puppet of these forces, but is greater than they are.”

~ Sri Aurobindo

It's not that complex, as in keep it simple stupid. Trump represents the one percent. The desire of rich business corporations LLC to install an Oligarchy is all but complete. They have moved from lobbyists doing their bidding to actually installing big business personnel in cabinet/institutional positions, specifically individuals openly against the very institution they are being put in charge of!

Blind spot shadow stuff of the unconscious mind will always be part of the equation I imagine, but this sea change is about policy - do we want to take care of and be sincerely mindful of the social health and wellness of the commonwealth or do we want to serve the interests of the one tenth of one percent? Do we want to nurture a vibrant well-educated middle class capable of competing in today's world economy, or a dumbed down compliant electorate that is easily moved away from actual facts and towards emotional cliches and slogans?

Most likely a moot point given the late stages of empire condition of this particular Republic. Empires collapse from within historically. Why would we be any different. You're right about one thing - Trump represents the collective self-centered myopic nature of the US...

Trump might very likely be the catalyst that reveals what actually remains of the true moral fiber of this country. Will the Trump sea change take hold and become the irreversible direction we go in the US, or will the sleeping giant awaken? We will find out soon enough (or not soon enough)...

And to be sure, Hillary Clinton was all but sold out completely and surrendered to this well-developed turn towards Oligarchic rule, as well as Bernie Sanders to some degree. It would be interesting to peek inside the parallel universe where Hillary won, and then the one in which Bernie won...

I actually like that Trump won now (after the initial surprise/shock) because we in the US are 5% of the world's population using up 25+% of the world's resources which is utterly unsustainable, so Trump is the perfect tool for the job of disrupting this unsustainable model of reckless runaway consumption.

I was thinking this morning (while watching the pomp & circumstance revving it's engines in DC) that I need to revise my vantage point from party affiliation or national affiliation to planetary affiliation as my new filter. Not what is good for me or my perceived "side", but what is good for the planet. I am co-opting the term "globalist" from the one world economy globalists. This intentional positioning, this critical thinking filter will save me much unnecessary grief concerning what either of these two crooked parties do or don't do while blowing smoke up our collective asses.

I believe a president Trump will help bring a much needed disruption of our unsustainable consumption. Not necessarily Trump himself, but the disruptive Trump phenomenon. I'm starting to think that Donald Trump is in way over his head and is too self-involved and arrogant to realize the dangerous territory he has entered with very seasoned and opportunistic veterans of the political game that are posed to eat his lunch. This may be a painful transition for myself and many others, but it is urgently necessary if we are to have any hope of survival, not to mention all the other stressed life forms that deserve to live just as much as we presume to deserve our(human)selves.

This also provides a natural correction to the us vs. them attraction and gives each polarized side an opportunity to calmly realize the fallacious nature of their emotionally charged thinking. Trump supporters will soon realize that he is not the change agent they voted for and Hillary supporters have to realize that she was not going to move towards the Bernie Sanders platform as much as she was promising, and was about to really get into it with V. Putin. And I do understand to some degree the Trump attraction, that Trump is refreshingly and relentlessly honest about who he really is on the inside while Hillary Clinton with such precision disingenuously poses as somebody she is so obviously not.

I am going to climb up a little higher on the critical thinking ladder for a better view, a clearer view, a much less emotionally charged view, a planetary view...

I like the Jungian analysis on current events, and I agree with the shadow projection and polarization observations. However, I got lost on the talk about "Matrix overlords and the Empire". Kind of sounds to me like someone is doing a little shadow projection of their own.

"The religion of government." Good meme.

Very cerebral article, but I believe the author is right. His main point I think is that the "Us vs. Them" mindset is being purposely used to control us and to keep society deluded and distracted.

"Any negative or reactive emotion you have towards Trump or his supporters is an indication that you are giving away your power and life energy."

When we recognize the game we are better able to think for ourselves and break free. The author is calling us to our higher selves, beyond the subconcious control of our egos and negative self-talk.

I think Bernhard Guenther's brilliant but how does one maintain such a state of unity consciousness?  It's much harder to do it in practice, at least for me.  As much as I tell myself that I live by the Golden Rule, I often grumble at people doing something that I don't like and then I react in a way that I would not like to be treated.  Probably a survival mechanism that's now become a habit.

So accepting that everyone is a mirror unto ourselves, how does one navigate successfully in this dualistic world? How does one remain in higher consciousness most of the time when "stupid human shit" is happening around you?  Daily meditation aside, are there other ways to stay mindful during a trying day?

I appreciate your thoughts.

"MY FEELING OF CONNECTION DRIVES ME, NOT MY ANGER"
from Rob Breszny's astrology website... speaks to how I feel about reactions after election and inauguration day pretty well...

In the late 1990s, environmental activist Julia Butterfly Hill spent two
years living in a redwood tree she named "Luna." Her goal was to save it
from being cut down by a logging company. She succeeded both literally
and mythically. Luna was spared from death, as was a surrounding three-
acre swath of trees. Hill became an inspiring symbol of artful,
compassionate protest.

Later she told Benjamin Tong in the DVD "The Taoist and the Activist":
"So often activism is based on what we are against, what we don't like,
what we don't want. And yet we manifest what we focus on. And so we
are manifesting yet ever more of what we don't want, what we don't like,
what we want to change. So for me, activism is about a spiritual practice
as a way of life. And I realized I didn't climb the tree because I was angry
at the corporations and the government; I climbed the tree because when
I fell in love with the redwoods, I fell in love with the world. So it is my
feeling of 'connection' that drives me, instead of my anger and feelings of
being disconnected."

I have to say, I am mixed regarding the whole Trump election. I think we have to first realize that no one inside the system is going to "fix" it - and that applies to Trump as well, even though perhaps half of the nation thinks he can. That would indeed be nice - but even if he were 100% sincere in his desire to "drain the swamp," he would soon realize that there is MUCH more going on in our government than he ever realized (although he now probably has an idea of just what he is up against). We are talking about secret space programs that fund themselves via the trafficking of humans by the millions to ET species - just as one example.

While the mainstream belief systems that most subscribe to would never entertain such "nonsense," we have to wake up to the fact that things are not what we have been lead to believe, and much of this is and will be coming out soon (think Pizzagate). As it does, and we wake up to a much bigger reality than we ever thought existed, we will begin to realize that nothing inside the system is going to change anything - we have to change it from without - as a unified consciousness.

Cobra talks about the "event" and maybe that is the point where we all connect and unify, and begin to wield our massive power to create anything we can imagine. I can't wait for something like this to occur, but in the meantime, we have to do as best we can to make whatever changes we can make ourselves in our own lives to support what we want - as the above article about Luna indicates. The Trump phenomena is leading people back to fighting against what they don't want, and creating division in the process (thanks to people like George Soros).

Whatever happens, the energies are increasing, and I think we can expect some interesting times ahead!

Hey Knightspirit,,, I just watched the cobra update for feb. 12th. I am interested in this plasma field they were talking about, everything about frequencies interests me these days. Are you still out near Mt.Shasta? I have been near Yosemite for about a year and a half now.Thought of you when I drove by Mt. Shasta on the way here. Such an awesome view of that mountain from the north! I'm about to leave California now, and depending on the weather,,,might stop on the way back north.I guess the hot springs might be in order!
