Words of Wisdom

In the French motel that we stayed at last night there was the phrase written on the walls - stencilled in quite a large script as part of the decor, not grafitti - "la meilleure façon de réaliser ses rêves est de se réveiller" (the best way to realise our dreams is to wake up).  Quite surprising to find such a profound pronouncement in such mundane a context!

I also just recently came across again Nirmala's idea that "truth opens the heart and quiets the mind" which I find quite a useful touchstone when dealing with life in general - when I'm awake enough to remember it ;-)

Just come across the connection that Gina Lake is Nirmala's wife! And a load of their books are available on Kindle Unlimited.

"Deep down in your heart know that all is well. Understand that the Universe is your friend and can never hurt you. It is the substratum of all existence which is love! When you develop a loving consciousness there can be no problems.
Love takes care of everything. Love is the same as absolute awareness, pure intelligence, or the power of God. When you have enough love inside, there are truly no problems. Problems only arise when you believe you are separate and lacking love." ~ Robert Adams

“If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, then man would have only four years of life left. No more bees, no more pollination, no more plants, no more animals, no more man.”
― Albert Einstein

When I first came across this 'quote' I thought it was an odd subject for Einstein to be concerned with - as far as anyone is aware he had no interest in bees whatsoever and the original source was a Canadian beekeepers’ journal in the 1940s. Apparently it's not true and Einstein didn't say it - but it sounds like it should be true ;-)

"The power that takes care of everything knows how to take care of you. Don’t you see, there isn’t anything you have to do to help. In other words, God doesn’t need your help. All you have to do is to take a deep breath and say: ‘Take it God. I’m all finished with it. I will never worry again. I will never be upset over anything again.’"
~ Robert Adams

This is what I aspire to in my way of being ;-)
It's already the case, we just have to remember it!

"Those who love you are not fooled by mistakes you have made or the dark images you hold about yourself. They remember your beauty when you feel ugly, your wholeness when you are broken, your innocence when you feel guilty, and your purpose when you are confused." ~~ African saying

As I Began to Love Myself ~ A Poem on Self Love

As I began to love myself I found that anguish and emotional suffering are only warning signs that I was living against my own truth. Today, I know, this is AUTHENTICITY.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody. As I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this person was me.
Today I call it RESPECT.

As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life, and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it MATURITY.

As I began to love myself I understood that at any circumstance, I am in the right place at the right time, and everything happens at the exactly right moment. So I could be calm.
Today I call it SELF-CONFIDENCE.

As I began to love myself I quit steeling my own time, and I stopped designing huge projects for the future.
Today, I only do what brings me joy and happiness, things I love to do and that make my heart cheer, and I do them in my own way and in my own rhythm.
Today I call it SIMPLICITY.

As I began to love myself I freed myself of anything that is no good for
my health – food, people, things, situations, and everything that drew
me down and away from myself. At first I called this attitude
a healthy egoism. Today I know it is LOVE OF ONESELF.

As I began to love myself I quit trying to always be right, and ever since
I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is MODESTY.

As I began to love myself I refused to go on living in the past and worry
about the future. Now, I only live for the moment, where EVERYTHING
is happening. Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it FULFILLMENT.

As I began to love myself I recognized that my mind can disturb me
and it can make me sick. But As I connected it to my heart, my
mind became a valuable ally. Today I call this connection WISDOM OF THE HEART.

We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others.
Even stars collide, and out of their crashing new worlds are born.
Today I know that this LIFE.

Author ~ The origin of this poem is uncertain. It is believed to have been written by *Charlie Chaplin on his 70th birthday, however some give credit to Kim & Alison McMilen, for a poem titled, “When I Loved Myself Enough”.

ABRAHAM'S DAILY QUOTE FROM YESTERDAY:

"Some things you’re not letting happen right now because the timing isn’t perfect for you. Some you’re not letting happen because you are very aware of where you are. But all things, as they are happening, are happening in perfect order. And if you will relax and begin saying, “Everything in its perfect time. Everything is unfolding. And I’m enjoying where I am now, in relationship to where I’m going. Content where I am, and eager for more,” that is the perfect vibrational stance.

Excerpted from Kansas City, KS on 9/17/03

Our Love,
Esther
(and Abraham and Jerry)"

I love these reminders that EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING PERFECTLY.

juliemartyn's picture

Just now, whilst re-reading Seth Speaks (thank you again, Chris, for that nudge), it sorta dawned on me that the above idea is intimately tied up with one of my own key life lessons - that despite all signs to the contrary, with life becoming more and more challenging on all sorts of levels, I have to hold the faith that EVERYTHING IS HAPPENING PERFECTLY.  This is obviously easy enough when life is smooth and pleasant, but more recently I have to tell myself again and again that everything happens for a reason, it's all part of the divine plan, all is well - and that's why I keep getting these reminders popping up.  WOW, I'd never thought of this being a personal lesson before, but it does make sense ...

Just felt the need to share ;-)

fredburks's picture

That's powerful, Julie! I find that the more I open to taking personal responsibility for literally everything happens, the more aligned I become with All That Is. And at the same time, I know that we are all co-creating this together, so it's not just me, but everyone who is co-responsible for everything that happens. Thanks for sharing your realization!

THE RULES FOR BEING HUMAN

HANDED DOWN FROM ANCIENT SANSKRIT

1.  YOU WILL RECEIVE A BODY

You may like it or not, but it will be yours for the entire period round.

2.  YOU WILL LEARN LESSONS

You are enrolled in a full-time, informal school called life.  Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons.  You may like the lessons or think them irrelevant and stupid.

3.  THERE ARE NO MISTAKES, ONLY LESSONS

Growth is a process of trial and error, experimentation.  The ‘failed’ experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately works.

4.  A LESSON IS REPEATED UNTIL IT IS LEARNED

A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it, then you can go on to the next lesson.

5.  LEARNING LESSONS DOES NOT END

There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons.  If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

6.  ‘THERE’ IS NO BETTER THAN ‘HERE’.

When your ‘there’ has become ‘here’, you will simply obtain another ‘there’ that will, again, look better than ‘here’.

7.  OTHERS ARE MERELY MIRRORS OF YOU

You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.

8.  WHAT YOU MAKE OF YOUR LIFE IS UP TO YOU

You have all the tools and resources you need, what you do with them is up to you.  The choice is yours.

9.  THE ANSWERS LIE INSIDE YOU

The answers to life’s questions lie inside you.  All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

Desiderata

GO PLACIDLY amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
