I don't know.  It depends on where the author is coming from, and we don't know that.  But I do know that fear can defeat us.  Collective fear has enormous power to suck the spirit out of us en-masse, and without that we have no ability to change things.  

So, let's assume that what Terrence Aym reports has real validity to it -- it may or may not, but we don't really know.  It seems to me, then, that the only way we can keep our spirits and power intact (and therefore the potential to survive) is to get comfortable with the fact of our own deaths -- each of us, personally.  That may sound macabre, but really it isn't.  We know that we all have to die sometime, and whether large numbers of us die at the same time or not doesn't matter much, since the result for us is the same.  It may come now, soon, or a long ways off.  And it seems to me that it is people who are comfortable with the reality of their deaths who can most enjoy life.  Also, viewing death not as a finality but as a passage to another state or dimension certainly helps in accepting it. 

With that perspective and stability we have power; if disaster can be averted, then we are more likely to avert it or enlist those who can.  If it can't be averted, then we are more likely to survive it.   And if we can't do that, then so be it.  This world is a fleeting phenomenon anyway, as compelling as it may be while we're in it.   (Disclosure:  I do have a firm belief that this world and humanity on it will survive this and pass into a higher, transformed state.  However, even if we have this belief we can't just be complacent because our efforts are probably necessary for the transformation to happen.)

I find myself agreeing with FFG about love and earnestly asking for help in higher places (so to speak).   But I think it's important to frame what we ask for in positive terms because framing it in negative terms might (unconsciously) empower negative results.  This has actually been shown to be so in many cases.  So, instead of asking for the cleaning up of the oil spill disaster in the Gulf, for example, we can ask for the return of the Gulf to a clean, natural, and pristine state and a resulting compassion and wisdom to develop in the people of the Earth. 

And why not do Ho'opnopono for this every day earnestly?  Our greatest power is in our minds and spirits.

So, we do the best we can in our highest sprits, and come what may.   But we've got to tend those spirits.

with both Bob and FFG, I will not buy into fear no matter what the source. And when my time to leave the planet comes, though I may not wish to leave behind loved ones, I believe we'll walk together again as we have before. My take on it. Breathing love to ALL.                kristyne

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead.

He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them. 

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble... At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree..

'What do you call this place?' the traveler asked.

'This is Heaven,' he answered. 

'Well, that's confusing,' the traveler said. 'The man down the road said that was Heaven, too.'

'Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell.'

'Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?'

'No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind.'

Lets dissect the facts presented here, shall we?:

Ominous reports are leaking [really? From where?]past the BP Gulf salvage operation news blackout that the disaster unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico may be about to reach biblical proportions.

[oops- he forgot to show the ominously leaking reports]251 million years ago a mammoth undersea methane bubble caused massive explosions, poisoned the atmosphere and destroyed more than 96 percent of all life on Earth. [1] Experts agree that what is known as the Permian extinction event was the greatest mass extinction event in the history of the world. [2]           [ IF it was caused by gas, the process would have been triggered by the forming of the Himalayas-a vast shift in the tectonic plates. what does this have to do with this oil well?]

55 million years later another methane bubble ruptured causing more mass extinctions during the Late Paleocene Thermal Maximum (LPTM).

The LPTM lasted 100,000 years. [3]

Those subterranean seas of methane virtually reshaped the planet when they explosively blew from deep beneath the waters of what is today called the Gulf of Mexico.[really? I didn't know they had located this only theoretical event(s) to the Gulf Of Mexico. [Surprising considering it's only a theory-and he has evidence of the gulf as the origin-NOT.]

Now, worried scientists [I LOVE THIS-NO GROUP OF "SCIENTISTS" IS IN THE ARTICLE] are increasingly concerned the same series of catastrophic events that led to worldwide death back then may be happening again-and no known technology can stop it.

The bottom line: BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling operation may have triggered an irreversible, cascading geological Apocalypse [AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH] that will culminate with the first mass extinction of life on Earth in many millions of years.

The oil giant drilled down miles into a geologically unstable region [along with ten's of thousands of other wells in the Gulf that haven't caused the end of the world]and may have set the stage for the eventual premature release of a methane mega-bubble.

Ryskin’s methane extinction theory

Northwestern University's Gregory Ryskin, a bio-chemical engineer, has a theory: The oceans periodically produce massive eruptions of explosive methane gas. He has documented the scientific evidence that such an event was directly responsible for the mass extinctions that occurred 55 million years ago. [4] [caused by massive tectonic events]

Many geologists concur: [why would geologists be consulted whether they "concur" that biological effects would occur? Why not biologists?]]"The consequences of a methane-driven oceanic eruption for marine and terrestrial life are likely to be catastrophic. Figuratively speaking, the erupting region "boils over," ejecting a large amount of methane and other gases (e.g., CO2, H2S) into the atmosphere, and flooding large areas of land. ....................................

The warning signs of an impending planetary catastrophe—of such great magnitude that the human mind has difficulty grasping it-would be the appearance of large fissures or rifts splitting open the ocean floor, a rise in the elevation of the seabed, and the massive venting of methane and other gases into the surrounding water.

Such occurrences can lead to the rupture of the methane bubble containment—it can then permit the methane to breach the subterranean depths and undergo an explosive decompression as it catapults into the Gulf waters.  [6]

All three warning signs are documented to be occurring in the Gulf.  [OK good-let's see the proof]

Ground zero: The Gulf Coast   [oops-he forgot to go to the evidence-instead he talks about the mind-bending disaster he envisions for us. Is the location the proof? no]

The people and property located on the greater expanse of the Gulf Coast are sitting at Ground Zero. They will be the first exposed to poisonous, cancer causing chemical gases. They will be the ones that initially experience the full fury of a methane bubble exploding from the ruptured seabed.

The media has been kept away from the emergency salvage measures being taken to forestall the biggest catastrophe in human history. The federal government has warned them away from the epicenter of operations with the threat of a $40,000 fine for each infraction and the possibility of felony arrests. [ominous/WRONG/-but it's if u get closer than 65 feet to boats or booms]

Why is the press being kept away? Word is that the disaster is escalating.  [OK-who's word?]

Cracks and bulges         [at last-the evidence]

Methane is now streaming through the porous, rocky seabed at an accelerated rate and gushing from the borehole of the first relief well.[does he mean it is gushing directly from bedrock or it's coming out of the oil well- just like all oil wells do?] The EPA is on record that Rig #1 [which rig is he referring to? yes, there are massive amounts of gas erupting from the original sunken rigs well head...]is releasing methane, benzene, hydrogen sulfide and other toxic gases. Workers there now wear advanced protection including state-of-the-art, military-issued gas masks.   [proof this is happening?-is he talking about the area where Kevin is working and has no problems?]

Reports, filtering through from oceanologists and salvage workers in the region, [I love this-why doesn't he document the reports? Who are these oceanologists and salvage workers?] state that the upper level strata of the ocean floor is succumbing to greater and greater pressure. That pressure is causing a huge expanse of the seabed-estimated by some [who is he talking about as having estimated this?] as spreading over thousands of square miles surrounding the BP wellhead-to bulge. [remember I've previously proven his alleged source-Russian submarines- were not allowed to enter the area]Some claim the seabed in the region has risen an astounding 30 feet. [amazing that this one guy can collect all this information on his own...he must be flying around in helicopters and Lear jets rushing from one breathless oceanologist to the next and having access to all these salvage workers who tell him these things in secret no one else hears-HOW DOES HE TRAVEL AROUND GETTING THESE SECRET REPORTS?]

The fractured BP wellhead, site of the former Deepwater Horizon, has become the epicenter of frenetic attempts to quell the monstrous flow of methane.  [I CERTAINLY HOPE THEY'RE HURRYING]

The subterranean methane is pressurized at 100,000 pounds psi. [if they drilled through this, why didn't the drill get ejected from the borehole? 100,000 lbs is an astounding amount of pressure...why haven't we seen his proof that this is even possible or that it has been measured or that a theory accounts for this claim...]According to Matt Simmons,[I can't find any evidence he has proof of this and BTW, this is a generic link to wikipedia-not proof] and  an oil industry expert, the methane pressure at the wellhead has now skyrocketed to a terrifying 40,000 pounds psi. [can't find this either-only carbon copies of this article-they didn't seem to have too much trouble lowering a new cap on to the well]

Another well-respected expert, Dr. John Kessler of Texas A&M University has calculated that the ruptured well is spewing 60 percent oil and 40 percent methane. The normal methane amount that escapes from a compromised well is about 5 percent.

More evidence? A huge gash on the ocean floor—like a ragged wound hundreds of feet long—has been reported by the NOAA research ship, Thomas Jefferson. [THERE IS NO REPORT!! THE THOMAS JEFFERSON NEVER ISSUED ANY SUCH REPORT AND THIS LINK GOES TO A GENERIC NOAA ARTICLE ABOUT THE SHIP-NOT SOME "REPORT"] Before the curtain of the government enforced news blackout again descended abruptly, scientists aboard the ship [remember my ex-sister in law, a senior oceanographer at NOAA-OK?]voiced their concerns that the widening rift may go down miles into the earth.

That gash too is hemorrhaging oil and methane. It’s 10 miles away from the BP epicenter. Other, new fissures, have been spotted as far as 30 miles distant. [and where is the evidence of a fissure?]

Measurements of the multiple oil plumes [THIS IS PRETENDING THAT THE PLUMES WERE CAUSED BY SEPARATE LEAKS FROM THE DEEPWATER HORIZON LEAK-ACTUALLY WE ALL WERE TOLD THE PLUMES WERE CAUSED BY BP  ADDING DISPERSANTS TO THE OIL TO HIDE IT UNDER THE SURFACE-PRETTY DAMNING FOR A COVER STORY] now appearing miles from the wellhead indicate that as much as a total  of 124,000 barrels of oil are erupting into the Gulf waters daily-that’s about 5,208,000 gallons of oil per day. [AND YOUR SOURCE FOR THIS SCIENTIFICALLY MEASURED QUANTITY IS        ??????]

Most disturbing of all: Methane levels in the water are now calculated as being almost one million times higher than normal. [7] 

Mass death on the water       
If the methane bubble [PLEASE NOTICE NO ONE HAS GIVEN A SINGLE PIECE OF PROOF OF ANY METHANE BUBBLE AND HE SAYS -"THE" BUBBLE-AS IF IT IS ALREADY PROVEN]—a bubble that could be as big as 20 miles wide [OK-HOW ABOUT 20 INCHES WIDE? THERE IS NO WAY HE CAN ASSERT THIS WITHOUT SCIENTIFIC MEASUREMENTS-PRESUMABLY WITH ENORMOUSLY EXPENSIVE SEISMIC/ACOUSTIC SENSING TECHNOLOGY]—erupts with titanic force from the seabed into the Gulf, every ship, drilling rig and structure within the region of the bubble will immediately sink. All the workers, engineers, Coast Guard [PLEASANT LINK TO GENERAL INFO ON COAST GUARD] personnel and marine biologists participating in the salvage operation will die instantly. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Next, the ocean bottom will collapse,[OR IS IT 20" WIDE BUBBLE?] instantaneously displacing up to a trillion cubic feet of water or more[WONDER IF HE MADE THIS UP-TRILLION SOUNDS NICE AND BIG DOESN'T IT? Did he have to round it up or down a little?] and creating a towering supersonic tsunami annihilating everything along the coast and well inland. Like a thermonuclear blast, a high pressure atmospheric wave could precede the tidal wave flattening everything in its path before the water arrives.

When the roaring tsunami does arrive it will scrub away all that is left. ("roaring"-special effects?)

A chemical cocktail of poisons

Some environmentalist experts are calling what’s pouring into the land, sea and air from the seabed breach ’a chemical cocktail of poisons.’     [DON'T DOUBT THIS-but it's the wellhead]

Areas of dead zones devoid of oxygen are driving species of fish into foreign waters, killing plankton and other tiny sea life that are the foundation for the entire food chain,........... and polluting the air with cancer-causing chemicals and poisonous rainfalls. [WHY DOES HE GET SIDETRACKED BY THIS? IF A TOWERING SUPERSONIC TSUNAMI IS COMING WHO THE HELL WOULD CARE IF IT'S A POISONOUS TOWERING SUPERSONIC TSUNAMI? OR A TOWERING SUPERSONIC CANCER-CAUSING TSUNAMI?]

A report from one observer in South Carolina [this link is a pleasant article about South Carolina...]documents oily residue left behind after a recent thunderstorm.[what reporter?] And before the news blackout fully descended the EPA released data that benzene levels in New Orleans had rocketed to 3,000 parts per billion. [this may be true I'm not sure at all-but here's the EPA's reports-if they show this higher # I can't find them and they generally show far less than threatening levels-I'll stipulate that they could be lying-they did after 9/11 didn't they? Also, I found an internet blogger who posted comparisons of supposedly altered EPA logs that auto-post on the Internet from sampling stations-I dunno if it's legit-it's just numbers she could have retyped them?]

Benzene is extremely toxic and even short term exposure can cause agonizing death from cancerous lesions years later.

The people of Louisiana have been exposed for more than two months—and the benzene levels may be much higher now. The EPA measurement was taken in early May. [8] [July reports again]

Doomsday      OMG
While some say it can’t happen because the bulk of the methane is frozen into crystalline form, others point out that the underground methane sea is gradually melting from the nearby surging oil that’s estimated to be as hot as 500 degrees Fahrenheit. [really? the well is width of a dinner plate and is melting vast quantities of methane under a mile of freezing ocean? Remember how the first cap didn't work because the methane gas instantly froze into ice matrices and they had to abandon it?]

Most experts in the know, however, agree that if the world-changing event does occur it will happen suddenly and within the next 6 months. [which experts? Why won't he reveal the "in the know" clan of experts that prove all this?]

So, if events go against  Mankind and the bubble bursts in the coming months, Gregory Ryskin may become one of the most famous people in the world. Of course, he won't have long to enjoy his new found fame because very shortly after the methane eruption civilization will collapse.[what about the towering supersonic tsunami of cancer? I thought everyone would be dead from this and the "thermo-nuclear-like" blast wave in front of it??]

Perhaps if humanity is very, very lucky, some may find a way to avoid the mass extinction that follows and carry on the human race.   [dum dum dum...dumdey dumdey dum da dum]

Perhaps.   [yes, if your calculations based on hard evidence and scientific data are correct]
