Over the last 50 years, Shaklee has created a movement to make people and the planet healthier by creating the best natural health and wellness products that have a dramatically reduced environmental impact. Shaklee also pioneered Social Marketing as a business model and has paid out more than $4 billion to millions of people as a reward to sharing Shaklee products with their friends and families.
"Shaklee has tried to show the world that companies can build long term successful businesses by helping millions of people have better health and more income, while making a meaningful impact on the world" says Shaklee's Chairman and CEO, Roger Barnett, named a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum in 2005. "We are very proud to provide our more than 750,000 members and distributors with an opportunity to do well by doing good which has helped Shaklee not just survive, but thrive through every single recession in the last 50 years."
Governor Schwarzenegger joined Shaklee to help plant the millionth tree in celebration of the Million Trees-Million Dreams Campaign to raise awareness of global climate change. "What you're doing here is extraordinary," said Schwarzenegger. He added, "Shaklee is about inspiring others."
2004 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and creator of the Green Belt Movement , Dr. Maathai was honored with the first ever Shaklee Eco-Entrepreneur of the Year Award™ for harnessing economic rewards through her Green Belt Movement, a non profit organization empowering communities worldwide to protect the environment. "Shaklee led the way in achieving carbon neutrality in 2000 and has mobilized its networks to plant a million trees for the planet, which is not only a great achievement, but an inspiration to all of us," said Dr. Mathaai.
As part of the company's mission to provide an economic opportunity to one million families in 2009, Shaklee announced that it will waive all the costs to join over the next 30 days, in an effort to grant an economic opportunity for one million Americans to provide for their families while also taking care of our planet.
