Count the Kids

All children have a right to a better life than what we see happening in the world all around us.  As a mother and a grandmother I am appalled at the price our children and possibly the next seven generations of our children are paying or going to pay for the choices that are made without any consideration of them.  May they be better protected, may we begin to be more vigilant of their needs - they are precious regardless of color, creed or belief.  Which by the way, is all and only what WE teach them. I feel a great responsibility to them - every one. They deserve better lessons than we are currently teaching them.  How can we expect them to understand anything at all about peace or love or humanity when everywhere they look there is fear and war and examples of much less than we should expect of ourselves and others? We must somehow do better.

I like to believe when I read these kind of statistics that this life is an illusion. It's at times unbearable to imagine what children go through. Onesong u r correct in saying they deserve better lessons. It's a cycle and we all have gone through being a child in a world that from one perspective is quite frankly insane. About a year and a half ago I started a petition to bring love in to the classroom. Let's face it there is only one change that is significant enough to bring formidable change to our future and that is to condition children to know who we are. The petition landed on some ears but nothing that has really progressed even close to where it needs to be. Actually I received notice that after one year it has been taken down. Bless them however for the opportunity to bring it back whenever. One day we will reopen it and pray that it gets to a level where it's implemented into the education system. I feel since we began I have grown Substantialy enough (this TT course provided a lot of that growth) that when we do bring it back there will be so much more loving energy going behind it that it will be found by more and more open and loving hearts willing to back it. I am attaching the suggested curriculum however I'm sure there will be some incredible insight for tweeking it when the time comes.

I have to forgive myself at times when I think that I should be working towards this every waking second, and I often think about something a former boss used to say to me which is, 'when is a good time'

Thanks one-love. I like the idea of training children in the power of positive thinking. I suppose what I posted could be looked upon as divisive and negative thinking. I just get frustrated by the plight of the Palestinians but didn't mean to make it look like I don't care about Israeli children as well. Certainly the answer is to not take sides but to call for a cease to the conflict. The children deserve peace.
