Our Own Paltalk Chat Room

Hi All!!

This project is currently under way. Paltalk is free to download and I soon hope to have a link which we can all use to get to the site to download the program and be able to gather and talk amongst ourselves while also meeting other like minded individuals so we may grow our community as well as get information to those in need of it. The room is called information headquarters on paltalk. Currently we have several admins who are paltalk vets helping with this venture. Currently we are working on the political end and wish to set up speakers to cover those types of events that are important between now and Nov 2nd 2010. The topics of this room are unlimited and we wish to use this as a tool to reach as many people as possible so they become informed instead of disinformed. I welcome all who wish to join and any ideas of topics and speakers to have at this time would be greatly appreciated. We have the capability to also broadcast through internet radio at no charge and we are currently working on tech problems for those who use skype. Also other room owners are helping to advertise so we can make this an awesome information tool. We are sponcering the wanttoknow.info web site and I'm also working hard to set up an affiliate program where all of us who join and go through a link which would be posted to the site will earn money for the site and will give needed funds to keep this information going and again grow our community. I'm very excited about this project and I again welcome any help or input you may have and I look forward to meeting on paltalk where we will be able to gather and brainstorm more. This will be our room and the potential is unlimited to whom we can reach---also the paltalk vetrans I'm working with would love to talk to you all and bring dreams and ideas to reality. Please leave any feedback you may have!!

peace, love and joy

Sorry I'm a slow one-what does the chat room software mean to GSpot participants? Are the people only GSPot people?
Are you proposing multiple chat rooms with different populations? Like:
a) Gspot grads b)grads and course participants c) grads and TROTW(the rest of the woild) Grads in same time zone(I dread we might make our buddies on the other side of the planet slaves to a US time zone!)
Are people vetted?
Are there rules/times of day?
does this mean speaking-audio? or text?
Who will decide to kick people out and for what issues? Can I be in charge of kicking my friends out? (kidding)
Most importantly-will it affect my life so much I won't recognise myself?.......;-)

Hi Brian,

The room is both gathering spot graduates and those who are looking to mobilize in a positive way. We are not limited to the US time zone as we can be open 24/7 if we have the administrators to oversee the room. An admin is one with the ability to keep someone fron talking, texting or showing videos of vulger content. The rooms are voice, text, and video. We can have multiple rooms if we desire to do so and in the future may well be a good idea. This room created now is to bring people in while also allowing gspeople to interact. We are pushing the want to know web site and the free courses there, also the fact that it is one of the few web sites that offers ways to become active on any issue of concern. Currently as we are just starting out we are open from 9pm EST- 1 or 2am EST. We do want to work towards being open 24/7 as the idea is to become a paltalk sponcered room where we will have much more capabilities at our disposal. Right now we are in the birthing process of the room and we definitely want admins from around the world in different time zones to also bring different perspectives about. Also admins have complete control of the room--we can bounce if necessary those who are let's say so vulgar they shouldn't even be in a chat room and it does happen from time to time in any chat forum. The rules of the room are what ever we desire. For example we are an R rated room but in our banner we ask people to keep foul language to a minimum also, no religion preaching or bashing, and generally in most rooms it is a three minute mic time when hands are up. The software is user friendly and we are currently working on skype issues. Also we are tossing around ideas of how to reach a bigger audience. Chat is a great tool when used right and I really do need the input from everyone here at GS as I'm dealing with very opinionated people so I'm having to use diplomacy skills so that people can see through the eyes of others---a very difficult message to get across to some and at times and can be very taxing. As far as affecting your life--that's up to you. It has affected mine in the sense it is the positive action I chose to help educate those who are waking up and to exchange information with those who already have but the biggest reason is to help grow our community as well as have a way to bring funds to help maintain the web site so that the courses can reach so many more. I hope I hit on all your questions and this gives a little more insight into what I'm trying to do with this. You have a wonderful day.

Hey Brian,

We actually had, or almost had, ..Lol...we were still testing it..... live chat and "seperate" group areas with invites, group administrators etc in the transformation team portal, the precursor to the gathering spot.....it failed miserably..Lol.....triggered the biggest fight, and yes it was a fight....that we have had here....many of the questions that you asked we were not able to resolve, unfortunately...

I personally thought it was a great idea and I hope this goes well Deb. I think the difference will be that people are entering somewhere with established rules..?..yeah?...with the TT it was being introduced into this community and people wanted, even felt they had a right, to have a say in what the rules were....keeping in mind many of us here and even more so back then have issue with "rules" in general Lol....it wasn't funny at the time but I do laugh when I look back now.....you should have seen us go.....and again....sorry for my part in it........Innocent.....Undecided

Hi Jez,

I thoroughly understand how things can get out of control for a chat room when in the planning process and at times requires much diplomacy to pull it off. The nice thing about paltalk is we can have multiple rooms without time zone restrictions. I would actually like to have a room for just gspeople which I can do and have it password protected so that we don't have to worry about outsiders coming in just gspeople period. However the downside to a keyed room is it can only have 10 people at any one time. Also we can also have a room that streams music with nothing but text for our friends who are out of country and cannot speak English. We have a program called super IM at paltalk which is better than skype and also allows for video as well. Chat really has progressed through the years---Thank God!!!---LOL  I worked very hard to get paltalk vetrans to work with us on this endeavor and we are learning from each other. The major rules are already in place and yes I did add room rules as well---but they are rules everyone can live with---I used the KISS principle---LOL  Thank-you so much for your input as I was wondering why more people weren't commenting on this now I understand why. The few of us that are involved will do everything in our power to get this up and running so everyone can participate and realize chat really has come a long way---LOL I hope you have a wonderful day and thank-you once again!!

Peace, Love and Joy
