I received the below e-mail today. I wondered where to post it, but since it was, in a way, so inspirational to me, I decided to post it here. Inspirational? How? Well, any race of beings who could make such a thing somehow has the potential to do anything, be anything. It's also fun. The video link is at the end.

Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa . Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from John Deere Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft , Iowa , yes farm equipment! It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video but as you can see it was WELL worth the effort. It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian P.S. Notice that at no time does a ball fall on the floor!"

Hey Bob,
Are you sure that is real?....Lol.....I work with 3d graphics and while the image quality is very low it looks like it was rendered.....?...it reminded me of a honda commercial from a few years back......no matter how it is was done it is impressive though.....

Well, Jez, I guess you're right; it was computer generated after all. I didn't do my homework. It's a good lesson in suggestibility. I wanted to believe in it, so I did. And thus we each create our world. But, yes, it is cool anyway. Here's the Snopes take on it:

Thanks for your confirmation....I make my living out of making things that look real....well hopefully they do.....lol........the technology that exists today is impressive.
The net, and media, are full of tricks......it is a good lesson but at the same time, I like you, have fallen for them before...I actually like this in myself....I have a natural instinct to trust and no matter how many times I get "fooled" I will continue to do it, there is no shame in trusting.......
I'll attach an image of mine, I know the people I do them for have often told clients that they are real...is this good or bad...is it deception.?...I don't know anymore....
