INDIGOS

I first learned the term Indigo Child when my daughter was tiny - meaning almost 15 years ago.  It explained many things about my precocious children, and resonated with me.  Eventually with further research and reflection I realized that I myself am an Indigo, born rather before the current crop that most folks think of when they hear the word.  I realize that Indigos have always existed, just like left-handed people, homosexuals and bullies.  There are many people throughout history that I am conviced were Indigos.  Some of them had a good effect, and some did not.  I would be reasonably certain, for instance, that Adolf Hitler was an Indigo.  Shakespeare may or may not have been.  Of course, most would have remained unknown.  When societies were intolerant, many were probably ostracized and even destroyed in the various ingenious and horrible ways that man devises to inflict pain and death.  In other societies they may have been shamans or great spiritual leaders.  Mother Teresa strikes me as a prime candidate for Indigoness, as does the Persian poetess Tahireh.

What's extraordinary about our present time is not just the large numbers of Indigos entering the world but the many ways in which they are taking up the momentum in the leap from the old paradigm to the new.  Being Indigo isn't particularly easy - all Indigos know they are "different" somehow - and there's no guarantee they'll choose a path that serves the greater good or any good at all.  Having had the opportunity to counsel and even mentor some young Indigos at various times, I've tried to learn more about them, and I've written a lot, it turns out, here and there in various journals and blogs concerning the Indigo phenomenon.  So now, I'm trying to gather and organize information relevant to both Indigos and their friends and families on a website.  I've barely started, but if you wander over to www.indigodave.com you can check it out.

If any of my Team members have opinions, information, input of any kind of the topic of Indigos, I'd like to hear it.  To me, it's an engrossing subject about which I have still a very great deal to learn. If anyone wants to help with the website that'd be grand!  But mostly I am hoping to stimulate a good forum conversation on the topic of Indigos.

How do we recognize them?  How do we deal with them?  How many of us would say we're Indigos?  What resources do they need that they do not get from school and later on, their careers?  How will they change society?  Is their DNA really different?  Are they related to ETs?  Are they sent by God?  Is the whole Indigo phenomenon mostly hype?  What do you think?

Dear Dave, I read your bio on your website; I like your picture--you look real to me. And I especially like the last two sentences in your bio, about how the old world will crumble of its own weight and our job is to avoid the falling pieces and focus on the new creation. I can identify with a lot of what you've said in the TT forums and I feel you are a soul brother. I expect we'll do wonderful, fun things together.
Blessings,
John

Natalie, you've pointed me toward some good resources and I thank you. I do know about the books you mentioned, have not had a chance to read them. I have a tendency to skim websites, bookmark them, and then have absolutely no idea where this or that gem of wisdom comes from. It makes me feel I must be careful not to plagiarize! I'm gonna have to save up some money for some books, that's for sure.

John, I really appreciate your kind words! Although you and I haven't talked much, I feel the connection too. Actually, I like your picture too - you look real to me LOL!

And that's not to say I don't like everyone else's pic or that the rest of you don't seem real! I have a lot to learn about indigos, but this is work I've been pretty specifically directed to, so I'm working on it.

Dave, I have a feeling you and I are probably a bit alike. I am kind of a collector of information...though I'm not always so good about organizing it. The world is such an interesting place... It's the big picture that appeals to me. Does that sound like you too?

Sure does! In the first place I have major ADD or ADHD. It's easy to say that no such thing exists, but trust me it does! I think it's wrong to call it something negative and drug kids so they'll sit still. They'd just started experimenting with drugs for kids when I was in school in the mid-60s. They hadn't discovered the paradoxical effect of amphetamine-like drugs for this, and so they gave me Librium. I hated the stuff and sold it to people who liked downers.

I also have always wished to see the Big Picture. I cruise the net, bookmarking sites I find interesting. Later, when I wish to find something, it may take me days.

I think this whole matter of ADD/ADHD is a significant part of the Indigo picture. One of the reasons kids squirm in class is that they're bored. I nearly always found school boring, except for a few inspiring teachers. I've always been a dreamer. We need to find ways to engage these young minds without drugs! I don't know how to do that without overhauling our educational system. I'd like to see a society that channels less of its money to celebrities and much, much more to teachers, nurses and other people who really are essential to progress.

On the matter of drugs, it's relevant to Indigos for a couple of reasons. For one thing, the combination of boredom and a sense of independence and entitlement lead many Indigos into the drug world. They begin by experimenting with pot or ecstasy or meth, and sometimes can't find their way back. As an adult I've been on Ritalin, Cylert, Adderol and even Valium. About fifteen years ago I started refusing all drugs after discovering that very small amounts of marijuana work better for me for ADD than anything else. I didn't discover this earlier because I always use to smoke it to get high. Some would say I'm being disingenuous to say I don't take drugs even though I smoke pot. Maybe, but I don't see it as a drug. It's an herb. THC is a drug, which can be extracted from the herb. OK, so I'm splitting hairs - maybe. Deal with it.

One of the many things I appreciate about this group is the honesty! We're all sharing things as if we were old friends. In a world where we all have to watch what we say to certain people like authority figures, this is a breath of pure oxygen!

Thank you Dave, for creating this forum on a topic that is of great interest to me and that so little really conclusive information is avaiable on.There has been a lot written about the indigo children but not all of it is in complete agreement. I have found that involvement with these children is a primary part of my life mission, but I still don't know exactly how or what I'm supposed to do about it. I am not an expert on the topic and I want to be clear that my conclusions that follow are a combination of the information I've read, messages from my spirit guides and plain common sense.

The early definitions of the indigo children indicated that virtually everyone born within a span of certain years was likely an indigo. My work with children has lead me to believe this is not exactly true. Spirits with a specific background and mission who have been identified with the "indigo" traits have been taking form on this planet for many years and there were a large concentration of them born during the 1980's-1990's, but not everyone born during this time have the same origin or purpose.

The "indigo" spirits have not had recent lives on this planet but were among the spirits who populated Leumeria and/or Atlantis and probably had lives in the early years of this planet in positions of leadership or royalty. They have come here at this time as part of a messianic mission to bring about the downfall of a terribly corrupted society to make way for a major transformation. Earth's history has shown cycles of societies building up, becoming corrupt, being destroyed and then rebirthed and we will be at that point in the cycle by 2012.

There is a more recent generation born to this planet which has been called the crystal or crystalline generation. Their births overlap the indigos but they have a different origin and a different role in the mission. They come from the realm known by different names in various traditions as the faeries, little people, sidthe, nature spirits, etc. and will have a much gentler, calmer disposition than the indigos. They are here to guide us in the rebirth of the new world after the old paradigm is destroyed.

Both of these generations have been repressed by the powers in control of this corrupt society as they pose a threat to their power and dominance of the world population. This repression has been implemented via manipulation of the government, the educational system and medical science, causing these spirits to be unable to fulfill their missions. The indigos, who tend to be volatile and easily frustrated, have largely been lost to the world of chemical substance abuse. Most of the crystal generation are still young children, but the older ones are being brainwashed into conformity with the materialistic agendas of this society and distracted from following their own instincts.

I also believe that there are earlier generations, many of whom would identify with the hippie movement of the 60's, who are supposed to be here to pave the way for these children and we are now feeling this calling.

Anyone is free to disagree with anything I've said here, but if any of this resonates with anyone here, please post a response to this forum or email me at [email protected]

Steve, I can tell you're coming at this issue as I am, with a grain of salt...and you know more than I do about the crystallines! The vast bulk of my experience - in my own life, with my kids, and with young people that I coach or counsel or teach - is indigo stuff.

earlier generations, many of whom would identify with the hippie movement of the 60's, who are supposed to be here to pave the way for these children and we are now feeling this calling.

That's me...learned a bunch of this stuff the hard way, and now I can see folks who need to know what I know...so I am trying to pass it on.

The early definitions of the indigo children indicated that virtually everyone born within a span of certain years was likely an indigo. My work with children has lead me to believe this is not exactly true.

I agree. I've read several websites and books that claim that 90+% of the kids born in the last 25 years are indigo...I don't see that. I do believe that the percentage is pretty high, maybe as high as 50%. But that's mostly just a gut feeling....I have read about changing DNA but have seen absolutely nothing scientific to back it up.

It has occurred to me that the indigo phenomenon could just be a function of parental drug use a generation ago, of hormones and other pollutants in our diets, or even a response to pollution in the environment. All these and none of these are possibilities. I remember, for instance, how there was a lot of scare-talk in the 1960s about LSD damaging chromosomes and how these kids would end up having all kinds of deformed babies....didn't happen, of course. But could there have been other ramifications? Of course.

The "indigo" spirits have not had recent lives on this planet but were among the spirits who populated Leumeria and/or Atlantis and probably had lives in the early years of this planet in positions of leadership or royalty.

I'd be interested to know the source of this statement. It resonates with me for a rather odd reason. I had a buddy in the military who was a pretty accomplished hypnotist, and one weekend he agreed to do a series of life-regressions for a few of us who were interested. One by one he put several guys under and sent their memories back to earlier times. Some of the tales that emerged were quite fascinating, and some were just garbled and indistinct. When my turn came, he started out with the usual suggestion of going back 50, 100, 200 years, to try to get a feel for the period we might have lived in before. In my case, we went back by centuries, then millennia - nothing. Then suddenly I got a vivid flash of spear-hunting from the prow of a reed boat, and from the surroundings and my costume I realized it must have been Egypt. I had had a "vision" of Egypt previously under other circumstances, so this rang true. The whole thing was pretty brief, but it tends to make me believe that my own time on earth was long ago, before this lifetime. Which also reinforces the sense of mission.

They have come here at this time as part of a messianic mission to bring about the downfall of a terribly corrupted society to make way for a major transformation.

This part really rings true for me. Not that I feel I'm here to bring about the downfall of society, but I am inherently subversive by the very nature of my thought processes. And this is something I sense in young indigos...and why I feel strongly they need mentoring and coaching.

Thanks for your very interesting thoughts!

Hi Dave,

As I stated, what I wrote in this post were conclusions that I reached on my own. But I wanted to address your response to the part of my post which I pasted below.

Many of the earlier writings about indigos, including the book by Lee Caroll/Jan Tober and the writings of Doreen Virtue, implied that these spirits had not lived on this planet before and therefore were not equipped to adapt to the behavioral norms previously established here and that a common trait of indigos is a sense of entitlement to being treated as a special class.

There have been many myths regarding Leumeria/Atlantis, but the one that most rings true for me is explained in the 2012-related books by Sri Ram Kaa and Kira Raa. They say that Leumeria was actually called Tu'Laya and it existed in another dimension and its inhabitants did not have physical form as we know it, but were more like pure light energy. The place we know as Atlantis was called Su'Laria and initially existed on the planet we now call Mars, with its population having a physical form and they later relocated to this planet. It's interesting that you mentioned memories of Egypt, because they also state that the next incarnation of the Atlantian spirits were as Egyptian royalty.

While I don't believe all of this needs to be taken literally, this information is what led to my conclusion, confirmed by my spirit guides, as to the background of the "indigo" spirits. But I think we must each find our own truths.

Steve

Steve, you're leading me along an amazing path here...

...implied that these spirits had not lived on this planet before and
therefore were not equipped to adapt to the behavioral norms previously
established here and that a common trait of indigos is a sense of
entitlement to being treated as a special class.

Well, that would explain some things, wouldn't it?

The place we know as Atlantis was called Su'Laria and initially existed
on the planet we now call Mars, with its population having a physical
form and they later relocated to this planet. It's interesting that you
mentioned memories of Egypt, because they also state that the next
incarnation of the Atlantian spirits were as Egyptian royalty.

Okay, this is the part that made me sit up straighter...reason being, I once had one of those Very Important Dreams...the kind you remember every detail of for the rest of your life...it involved guerrila warfare and resistance against a superior force in a mountainous land called Illuria.  Su'Laria....Illuria....the countryside in that dream really imprinted itself on my mind, and inspired a whole series of digital paintings of mountain landscapes.  Also, part of the dream involved lessons in shape-shifting and some kind of cloaking or veiling people's minds to seem semi-invisible.  The whole thing was so vivid and detailed that I think I could still turn it into a novel if I tried.

I've had two glimpses of Egypt through what I guess you'd call paranormal mind-travel.  One of them involved a pyramid, which I always thought had to be THE pyramid, but now I wonder if it might have been the smaller red pyramid of Zoser.  Because the pyramid I saw was brick-red - not white - with a gold capstone.  It was by itself with no other buildings around - no Sphynx.  The interior passage which I saw fairly briefly from within did not match anything in the Great Pyramid, unless it was at the very bottom of the Grand Gallery...but I remember plain walls and a roof or ceiling, not a lofty chamber.  In the Nile scene, spear-fishing among the reeds, from a reed boat, I definitely had the sense of being royalty.  I was wearing basically a pressed-linen loincloth and some kind of a sash.  That glimpse was very brief, mere seconds.  The first was several minutes.  My feeling about these two experiences is that they represent something very early in Egyptian history, especially the pyramid scene which is a true puzzle to me.  That came to me during one of the first sessions I had with a bruja in San Antonio around 1970.  She'd had me drink some kind of nasty tea...not peyote...and left me alone, telling me I would have a vision that would tell me my true identity.  In truth, all it did was puzzle me...and then many years later someone told me I was a starchild...someone else said Anunnaki....I wear my grain of salt like a St. Christopher medal.
